Who is a Prophet?

Luke 1:70 CJB - It is just as he has spoken through the mouth of the prophets from the very beginning. 71  That we should be delivered from our enemies and from the power of all who hate us.

The office of the Prophet, the watchman will always been a part of YAH’S sovereign plan and purpose for the Church. They have spoken the Word of YAHVEH since the world began.

The book of Jude 14 identifies Enoch as a functioning prophet, the seventh generation from Adam. Enoch was able to look thousand of years into the future and prophesied pertaining to the second coming of the Messiyah and his saints. The anointing that rested on him, made him able to see into the spiritual realm and understand YAH’S great judgment upon an evil society. This spiritual revelation was so strong in Enoch, it made him draw closer to YAHVEH, resulting in him being transported directly into YAH’S presence. Genesis 5:24 Enoch walked with YAHVEH; and he was not, for YAHVEH took him.

The scripture says that prophets existed in the Old Testament and still exist and should be functioning in today's church. Let’s see what Paul said.

Ephesians 4:8 NKJV - Therefore He said: When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. 11 And He Himself gave some to be Apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and some teachers.

The entire Five-Fold ministry is to bring the saints and the local church into maturity, into the full knowledge and character of Yahushua the Messiyah. They will prepare, equip and release them for individual and corporate ministry, in accordance with the will of YAHVEH for the individual. Paul teaches that each believer has a holy calling.

II Timothy 1:9 CJB - Since he delivered us and called us to a life of holiness as his people. It was not because of our deeds, but because of his own purpose and the grace, which he gave to us who are united with the Messiyah Yahushua. He did this before the beginning of time.

According to Dr. Noel Woodroffe: - Every saint has a blueprint for his life, which was designed and laid down in the mind, and heart of YAHVEH before the earth was created. This is an incredible truth! This blueprint, which is the design of all the circumstances, events, accomplishments and requirements of the life of each saint, is really YAH’S perfect will for the individual's life. Paul in Ephesians 2:10 calls them "good works which YAHVEH hath before the foundation of the world ordained, that we should walk in them. Dr. Woodroffe went on to say  - This YAHVEH-designed blueprint of good works is YAH’S perfect will for us, and it is His desire that we totally and completely live them out and accomplish them. YAH’S perfect will is according to the Doctor; it is find-able, do-able, and finish-able! This blueprint of good works for each of us constitutes our ministry upon the earth. Church prophets along with the other four ministries, work to perfect the saints so that they can fulfill their YAHVEH-ordained blueprint/ministry upon the earth.

Ephesians 4:13 CJB - Until we all arrive at the unity implied by trusting and knowing the Son of YAHVEH, at full manhood, at the standard of maturity set by the Messiyah's perfection.
The ministry and the office of the prophet must and will exist until there is knowledge, unity in the faith and until the redeemed community achieves a YAHVEH predetermined state of maturity. This stature of the fullness of The Messiyah has not been met.
