What is Divine Government?

What is Divine Government?

The Latin word for government translates (gubernatio) gives us the English word for government, literally meaning the steering of a ship. It is the word-translated guided-ness, pertaining to the running of the world. In maintaining it in its existence and running order, and in the achievement of YAHVEH sovereign will.

One early philosopher said, everything happened by chance. Kabbalah teaches that nothing happen by chance. However, the reliable and regular pattern of nature shows that there is intelligent design, someone is running or managing the world. Indeed YAH'S goodness requires that whatever He bring into existence, HE should also guide to its goal, and that is what running something means.

All rational creatures tend or act towards a specific goal that is within the scope of its own ability. They determine what their goal is and what it takes to achieve that goal.  There are other things that tend to act towards a goal; that is under the influence and direction of another, like an arrow aimed by an archer. The mere fact that the arrow has been aligned to a target shows that an intelligent source has a goal in mind and in the same way, the regular course of mindless object plainly reveals that the world is guided or steered by a Divine Intelligence.

A few weeks ago I had a discussion with someone on the topic of the Big Bang theory. I asked him where did the material for the Big Bang come from? He could not give a suitable answer. I informed him that mindless nature couldn't produce anything. The theory of the Big Bang just goes to prove that there is and must be an intelligence behind the Big Bang.

Everything that exists is by its own nature serving a greater purpose, and naturally needs Divine Intelligence to prevent it from dissolving into nothingness from which it came. The opinion of any creature, which thinks that, it determines its own behavior, is being directly or indirectly influenced by YAHVEH, who is directing it by its own natural nature to His goal.

Just as free-will moves someone toward a goal, as the archer guides an arrow, by that built-in will, that a creature receives from its Creator, constitutes its nature and therefore the Creator is the one who determines the created beings goals. Any other influences, whether imposed by a spirit, emotion, flesh, or nature is artificially imposed and is therefore labeled as coercion.

As Thomas Aquinas elucidated in His writings: A goal peculiar to one thing is good in some particular way; but the goal of the universe must be altogether good. But whatever is altogether good must be good essentially and as such, goodness itself. Good within the universe only shares goodness; so the goal of the whole universe must be according to some good outside of itself. For we achieve goals not only by acquiring inherent form (like understand, knowledge and wisdom), but also by making or acquiring a none inherent thing (building a house or buying a field), or even by representing them. Therefore the goal, by which all things are governed, can be something outside the universe, something to be possessed and represented, which everything strives to share in and imitate as far as possible.[1]

The intrinsic good of our planet exhibits a particular goal, based on understanding, knowledge and wisdom, for the good of the entire solar system; which in turn forms part of the over all good of the universe, created by the one who is the originator for all goals. As any type of order in an army unit, serve its commander's purposes, divine government is the guidance of the one being governed, toward some greater good, and must involve unity, for the purpose of the one governing it toward some divine ending. Any form of existence involves unity, for no existence is possible without unity. Any government of a groups, its ultimate purpose, must have some form of purpose or goal, and since a number of people can't unify and pacify a group unless they are first united, it seems that the best government will come from one person rather than from a committee.

YAH's governing of the world does many things, but there is actually one goal, the imitation of the highest good or the revelation of Yahushua the Messiyah to mankind. There are two general ways by which YAHVEH achieves this: One, HE holds everything in existence through the Holy Spirit, maintaining the good of all creation, that imitates YAH's own creative goodness. Two, HE stimulates and directs man to pursue good with the aid of the Holy Spirit working through The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH to imitate YAH's creativity nature. These general activities involve countless secondary, yet particular ones. The very occurrence of chance in the world shows that it is governed. For unless some higher powers governed changes in this world, especially in mindless things, nothing could be unintentional, which is what change really means.

Every human, animal or things are governed differently by the one Divine Governing plan. Those that act autonomously by nature and who think that they are the master of their own free will, are governed not only by YAHVEH working within them, but also, by commands and prohibitions, rewards and punishments, that makes the good attractive and the bad obnoxious.

YAHVEH does not govern creatures that lack reason in the same way, for they are reactive rather than proactive. Creatures that reason such as humans, govern themselves by their Spirit, Soul and Body, which need the Spirit of YAHVEH to bring all three to unity of purpose. The mind or the spirit is the starting mechanisms that start us and the will is the engine that drives us, towards that goal. Take control of the spirit and we control the emotion (soul) that will control the Body "The desires".

Governing involves formulating and implementing a goal. The ultimate purpose of this world is to create mature sons for the Kingdom, the planning is done totally by YAHVEH, and the implementation by means of the Holy Spirit. The best plan is the one, which takes into account all the particular circumstances in which action takes place.

YAH’S entire plan considers the minute details in fulfillment of the divine nature of the individual being development; that is the plan of salvation. Moses in building the Tabernacle in the wilderness did, according to all that YAHVEH had commanded him, so he did. Sharing with them not only goodness, but also the causing of the goodness which is Maturity. All good ministers, minister to all three part of the Human being, spirit, soul and body.

As Thomas Aquinas says: - If things escape a particular cause it is because some other cause intervenes, in-subordination to a more general cause. Now YAHVEH is the principal cause: not just in one class of causes, but universally over everything that exist. Nothing can escape YAHVEH’S rule; and whatever seems to do so is viewed from one particular angle and is found to fall under another in some other way. What we called bad escapes some particular ordered-ness in relation to good, but if it escaped YAH’S management entirely it would not exist at all. And though chance events escape the influence of particular cause, in relation to YAH’S universal plan nothing happens by chance.[2]

The very fact that something or someone may escape a particular purpose is in itself planned and implemented by YAHVEH, intelligent design. Some things can resist a particular change; this is also an implementation of YAH’S permissive plan. Nothing can resist YAH’S total government whether His Sovereign or Permissive will. It is like coming to a Y on a road, we may chose one or the other, but it is the designer of the road who determines where we go. Whether the choice is good or bad, signifies what or who is in control. If the selfish ego is in control, we might chose the broad and winding road or YAH’S permissive will, but if the Holy Spirit is in control, we will choose the straight and narrow path, YAH’S Sovereign Will. Whatever road we may choose it is YAHVEH who designed both roads!

Nothing by itself can seek either good and evil as such, and the ability to seek, whether natural or voluntary is of an intelligence own initiative and it is an implementation of YAH’S own purpose for it. Most sinners are intended on some good, and therefore not totally resistant to the pattern of YAH’S government, but because their actions conflict with the Divine orders, YAH’S nature or status in life requires that they incur His just punishment. Adam and Eve in the garden for example, is a case in point. What if Eve had not sinned? Would Adam have? What if Eve was the only one that sinned, where would Adam be without her? YAHVEH is EL who would be able to implement it to the greater good. What if they had chose YAH’S Sovereign Will and obeyed HIM?

In this age of Messiyah of Grace, YAHVEH is directing the world to HIS Goal, through the Holy Spirit with the aid of The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH (Divine government). YAHVEH is always at work in us, in our mind, will and emotions. Three kinds of agents act on the mind, will, and emotion, the Holy Spirit, satanic agent and the agent of the flesh. The object of the will's activity and the Creator of the very ability to will are from YAHVEH. He is the originator of free will. You may eat the fruit of any trees in the garden except for these two, free choices!

Our free will can be the object of both good and bad, but only the Spirit of YAHVEH can produce good with complete efficacy. The will our Ego is an open receptor to both good and bad, just as the mind is receptive to all desire. Only YAHVEH contains all created good in particular. For the same reason only YAHVEH can give us the ability to will, for by willing, we bend to some good in general, and that is beneficial to the source of all YAH’S progress, whose goal is the goal of all goals. Adam and Eve were innocent and were susceptible to deception. After they sinned their spirit opened up to the reality of sin and death. If you have never touched a hot stove the experience of pain would not be there as a deterrence not to do it again. Similarly the stain of sin, the separation from YAHVEH Will be the greatest hell the spirit of man will ever know.

Our emotions contain our display of affection towards others. In the redeemed community, it is the head of the community, The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH, who directs that community’s mind, will and emotion towards it's general good, through YAH’S Divine Government. YAH’S Divine Government has two natures: One is YAH’S permissive will, and two, YAH’S Sovereign Will. YAHVEH may permit the killing of the first born in Egypt, but it was HIS Sovereign Will that Moses survived. In our redeemed walk, we will stagger between YAH’S permissive and sovereign will until we bring our emotion in line with YAH’S Sovereign Will. That is maturity.

When the redeemed govern themselves, solely by the permissive will of YAHVEH, it is in a way opposed to YAH’S own purpose or inclination for us, and can be called coercion. But not when the giver of its own nature does govern it, which is YAH’S Sovereign Will.

YAHVEH EL ELYON govern our will, but He does not coerce it. We are governing voluntarily, when we govern ourselves from within through Love. But since that natural ability to govern ourselves comes from an outside source, governing ourselves is not always opposed to being governed by another. That is why in Matthew; Yahushua said that the kingdom of YAHVEH is within. YAHVEH, thou hast wrought all our works in us. YAHVEH is at work in all creative beings, but not on His own, but through the Holy Spirit. As created being we are powerless to do anything ourselves. As if fire didn't make things hot, but only YAHVEH acting through the fire.  Part of any man's existence is his ability to act in his own defense. What then would be the point of giving things powers that were never to be used? Or indeed of them even existing at all, since activity is what things exist for? But YAHVEH has a greater plan; He said that His way is higher than our way. The man with the experience is never at the mercy of the man with the theory. The man living in grace is never at the mercy of the man living in the Law.

So we must understand that the experience forms in a person’s life though daily actions, is in itself YAH’S goal. For all things works for good in those who belief in Yahushua. There are four kinds of causes: matter, goal, agent, and form. Matter does not initiate action, but it is subjected to it, and is receptive of their effects. Another way of saying this is, a goal and an agent combine to cause action in matter. Goals are a part of the governing agents, and agents applying forms and action in accord with their own needs for matter. A tradesman for example, is encouraged to act by the goal of making a table, bring his saw into action, using its sharpness to cut wood. YAH’S intelligent design can be seen in every activity in the following four ways.

First, as goal: where every activity proposes some real or apparent good, and since things cannot be or seem good except by bearing some resemblance to YAHVEH as the highest form of good. YAHVEH Himself is discretely present in the good of every action. In a similar way, in any organization of man, the chief man (Yahushua), in virtue of who He is, and by whom all things exist, governs all things to act.

Secondly, all human action is in virtue of their El (controlling influence), causing in them their actions.

Thirdly, YAHVEH not only governs things to act by applying their forms and power to an action, but He is also the one creating and maintaining the forms of the creative Man (Yahushua). Forms are within things, and the more severe the effect is on the interior, the more basic and general the form.  Yahushua is the only cause of existence; the most interior influence of all; so Yahushua' activity is deep within everything. Even nature's activities are to be attributed to Yahushua working within nature. You clothed me with skin and flesh; you structured me of bone and sinew. Yahushua therefore gives form to things, maintains them in existence, applies them by the Holy Spirit to their action, and is the source of the true government. Anything outside of YAH’S Sovereign Will is therefore not off the truth.

The action of ABBA YAHVEH from HIS Throne, shows, that HIS Throne is established on authority. YAH’S authority and Spirit create all of creation and the same authority upholds the physical laws of the universe. Therefore, the Scripture illustrates that He is upholding all things by the Word of His power. This implies upholding all things by the Word of the power of His authority. The authority of YAHVEH represents YAHVEH HIMSELG, whereas His power stands only for His act. Sin against power is more easily forgiven, than sin against authority, for the latter is a sin against YAHVEH HIMSELF. YAHVEH alone has preeminence in all things; therefore YAHVEH institutes all authority on earth. Authority is an important institution in YAHVEH creation and it is second to none. It is therefore imperative for us who desire to serve YAVEH to know and recognize the authority of YAHVEH. The Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus ran headlong into the authority of Yahushua The Messiyah and was never the same.

The great dispute of this present dispensation is who should have all authority. Our conflict with the devil and the flesh is the battleground for who should be in charge. Yahushua was asked what is the greatest commandment. He said we must love YAHVEH thy EL will all our heart, Like wise we must be subjected to YAHVEH with all our heart, soul and body. It is absolutely necessary for us then to acknowledge and gain a basic understanding of Divine Government.

The Apostle Paul tried to eliminate the church before he met and understood whom Yahushua the Messiyah was; it was hard for human power (Paul’s feet) to fight against YAH’S authority. Paul immediately fell on his face and acknowledged Yahushua The Messiyah as Lord. Saul knew who the real power was; he knew the source of YAH’S authority as well as YAHVEH saving grace. This is evident when we listens to the word of Ananias, for he Paul had a previous encounter on the road to Damascus that he would never forget. This shows that whosoever has the revelation, understand the authority; and who has the authority has the revelation. We must not obey man, but the authority vested in that man or woman appointed by YAHVEH.  We will be on the wrong side of the track if we see the man before we see the authority. But if we see the authority before we see the person, we will not care whether it is male or female, black or white.

It has been YAH’S Sovereign plan all along to manifest His authority to the world through Yisrael. YAH’S authority can be seen in the outline of The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH in the Body of The Messiyah. YAHVEH has given us His Holy Spirit to maintain His authority; therefore His authority is the hardest thing to come up against. The religious church are so blind, they need a Damascus road experience so that they may be broken unto submission and so begin to learn obedience to the Divine Government, and The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH which is the Five-Fold Ministries. The Pastor dominated church is not according to scripture, but according to tradition, which in itself is rebellion. Moses was warned four times in scripture to make sure he built the Tabernacle according to YAHVEH’s specification.

Every government exemplifies authority in its own self. Even the implement of a minor government is created to understand the order of the major Government. Therefore a father, who ordered and maintained the biblical family structure, forms a part of a redeemed community, that forms a part of a city, that forms a part of an ordered country. Now YAHVEH cannot act against HIS order, that HE radiates HIMSELF, for that would conflict with His Own nature, will, and purpose. But if He wants to He can override His permissive will, by manipulating the permissive will or purpose so that He Himself produces the effects or affects change beyond the circumstances mandate.

The Children of Yisrael in leaving Egypt is a case in point. It could have taken them two week to reach the Promised Land; instead it took them forty years. YAHVEH did not change His original design but He changed the secondary circumstances. The choices that we make are a reflection of our inner mind. It is that inner mind that needs to be conformed to the image of Yahushua the Messiyah. We will notice that the 40 years journey in the wilderness saw the death of a particular slave mentality. It was not YAH’S Sovereign will for such a spirit to enter the Promised Land, but it was His Sovereign will for Yisrael to enter into the Promised Land. But which set of people would enter?

When the Holy Spirit that is not the cause of its own natural agenda influences a person, he or she is acting against his own true nature. But when an influence that is the cause of a man's natural tendency acts, then he or she does not act against his nature, even when he or she is not acting through its nature.  Therefore, even though water naturally flows downhill, the tides of the sea are not against nature, since the moon from which earthly bodies derive their natural tendencies in the first place causes them. Now that we understand the premise of Divine Government, the Mighty Hand, lets observe its unveiling from an historic perspective.
