Distinction

Distinction

We cannot fully grasp the nature of the Church as a body until we understand the position of the Apostle in regards to its relationship to the Body. Although each member in the body is indispensable, the Apostle remains one of the most essential and primary members of the corporate Body. The Apostle is distinct from the other ministry gifts mentioned in Scripture and appears to possess a unique place, function and importance in YAH’S plan for the Church. Apostles are considered YAH’S premier appointment in the membership of the Body: Consider with me for a moment, what our body would be without our skeleton. Without that support the body would not be able to stand firm.

I Corinthians 12:28 - KJV - And YAHVEH hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 - Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

Ephesians 4:11 - KJV - And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

 The Church cannot fully understand itself as the temple of the living YAHVEH until we properly assess and understand the Apostle as a foundational ministry. A foundation in any structure is indispensable as it provides strength, stability, and form; it is the key to its expansion and potential. This quality and strength is the argument for the apostolic ministry, and is also apparent in Scripture. Moses in the Old Testament was warned many times to build the Tabernacle according to the specification YAHVEH has given.

Exodus 25:8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. 9“According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it. I am YAHVEH thy YAHVEH I change not! The building of the individual and corporate tabernacle is not according to man's religious conviction, but according to YAHVEH sovereign will and purpose.

 Jeremiah 2:13 “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.

In I Corinthians 3:10 - According to the grace of YAHVEH, which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

Ephesians 2:20  - And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Yahushua The Messiyah himself being the chief corner stone;

          What is the foundation of the Apostle and Prophets? It was the Torah and the Tanach. The Gospels were not written in the days of Yahushua, Peter, Matthew, or Paul. Therefore the foundation teachings of the Apostle are the Torah or the teaching given to Moses by YAHVEH.

As a foundational ministry, the Apostle serves together with the Prophet to lay the foundation for the entire Church of YAHVEH, while receiving alignment and positioning from Yahushua the Messiyah, the Chief Cornerstone. Without the Apostle as a member of the ongoing foundation of the Church, we cannot fully become the temples of the living YAHVEH. The problem here is that Yahushua has warned us about what would indeed happen. The Christian Church has forgotten their Jewish roots and the Laws of YAHVEH, and they are living by faith. Faith in the Messiyah is the first step, but after faith comes obedience to the Law because of a Love for the Messiyah. If you love Me keep My commandment. The Apostle cannot be omitted as a primary member of the body of The Messiyah, or as a foundational structure of the temple of YAHVEH just because we feel like it, we need to be obedient.
