Do we need The Fivefold?
Ministry today?
Some theologians imply that the
Church does not need the ministry of the Apostle and Prophet because the Holy
Spirit is with us. Their claim to fame is that every Redeemed has access to the
Holy Spirit within, they insist that the Holy Spirit will illuminates them with
a Rhema word when needed. These so-called theologians simply do not understand
the process of Adonai. They are wells without water, trees without fruits.
Consequently they claim that the
office of the Apostle and Prophet is no longer needed, except in the form of an
inspired Pastor who expounds upon the already revealed and written Word of YAHVEH.
If we accept their ideas as doctrine, then it would be more realistic to say
that we do not need teachers to teach the Word of YAHVEH, because in every
church age saints have had the Holy Spirit and a Bible. This is self
explanatory if we follow their logic.
There are numerous
scriptures stating that the Holy Spirit shall teach you all things, who can
lead us into all truth, take the things of The Messiyah and show them to you
and be your illuminator, director, counselor and enabler, John 16:7-15. This is
true to a point, and the point is who will take us to that point. In order for
Einstein to become an accomplished Scientist, he had to be taught by someone,
until he was at the stage to develop his own theory. A child ceases to be a
child when he is able to sustain himself, until then he needs a tutor. The same
is true in the spiritual realm.
1st John 2: 27a states, "but the anointing which you have received from Him abides in
you, and you do not need that anyone teach you." From I John 2:27 it would be
much easier to make a logical or even theological argument for doing away with
the office of the Teacher in the Five-Fold ministry, instead of the office of
the Apostle and Prophet.
If these ministries are not
needed in the Body of The Messiyah because the revealed will of YAHVEH is in
its written form and the Holy Spirit is available to personalize the Word of YAHVEH
when needed. This same reasoning could be used to eliminate from the Church any
one of the other Five-Fold ministry. They could claim that we do not need the
evangelist, we can just give every unbeliever a Bible and the Holy Spirit will
do the work of convicting and converting.
Therefore, the
Church would not need the Apostle to do their foundation laying abilities, or
the Prophet to correct, the Evangelist for outreach, the Pastor to counsel or
the Teacher to develop. This teaching in one of Satan’s most successful ploy
against the divine order of the church. The Five-Fold ministry was appointed to
bring man into the realm of divine son-ship, if Satan can impede the
effectiveness of this body, then He can spend more time in the heavenly.
Today in most
churches we only have the office of the Pastor and the office of the Teacher is
relegated to Sunday school classes. Because of this, the Body of The Messiyah
does not have the personnel in order to bring the people to full maturity. Paul
says, for when you should have been teachers you need someone to teach you.
The Five-Fold office ministers
are still needed even more so today. The scripture emphatically states that the
resurrected Yahushua The Messiyah gave gifts to the church for Divine
Government until His second coming, these gifts are the Apostle, Prophet,
Evangelist, Pastor, and the Teacher. There is no scriptural indication that any
of the Five-Fold ministry has a limited, depleted, reduced, or even suspended
ministerial role or has been placed aside by the Father, Son, or the Holy
Spirit.
The scripture says that heaven and earth shall pass away
before one word or one letter from the Holy Scripture not be fulfilled. Ephesians 4 declares that the Five-Fold
ministry is charged with equipping believers to develop and employ their own
spiritual gifts given to every member, until the whole Body is edified, built
up and come to full maturity. But according to Jeremiah 2:13 For My
people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living
waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no
water.
Ephesians 4 says that it is only
as the five fingers of the Might hand of YAHVEH work together to get hold of
what Yahushua did in them that the work will be accomplished. It only as the
Five-Fold ascension gifts function fully and equally in the Body of The Messiyah,
will the church come into the true perfect will of YAHVEH.
Which is the unity of the faith,
of the knowledge of the Son of YAHVEH, unto a perfect man, into the maturity in
the stature of the fullness of The Messiyah, by speaking the truth in love that
the individual and the Church may grow up into Yahushua in all things, which is
the head. If I were the evil one, I would try my best to discredit such an
establishment in the church and put in place a substitute government based on
self. If we notice the office of the Pastor in most churches is a dictatorship,
not one of serving. Most church members go to church to support the pastor
instead of being built up by Him.
I will use myself as an example.
For 10 years I sat in a Wesleyan church, with no knowledge of spiritual growth,
with only the knowledge of initial salvation. I went to church on Sunday and
the Pastor kept giving me a piece of bread. I would return next week for
another piece of bread, not realizing that that Pastor was holding me prisoner.
A famous author once said, if you give a man a fish he eats for today, but if
we teach him how to fish he will eat forever. That is the essence of the
Five-fold ministry, The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH.
There is an Old
Testament scripture to support this. Exodus 19:17 And Moses brought the people out of
the camp to meet with YAHVEH, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
20:18 Now all the people witnessed the thundering, the
lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when
the people saw it, they trembled and
stood afar off. 19 Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and
we will hear; but let not YAHVEH speak with us, lest we die.” 20And
Moses said to the people “Do not fear; for YAHVEH has come to test you, and
that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” 21 So the
people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where YAHVEH was.
It is the duty of The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH, the
Five-Fold ministry to take the people to their spiritual Mt. Sinai
By one-man sin came into the world, by one Man
sin was defeated. It is an individual choice to pay the price to return to the
position that Adam and Eve had before the fall. That is the purpose of the
Cross! Each and every individual should experience their Cross.
Moses, as the Apostle, headed the team with Miriam, the prophet, Joshua the Evangelist, Hur the Pastor, and Aaron the Teacher, as
they led the Yisraelites to a point in their wilderness experience where they could
hear and see YAHVEH for themselves. But YAHVEH does not force anyone into a
relationship with Him. Commitment is voluntary, and we are free through
foolishness to reject His invitation. But if we do accept YAH’S offer, we will
be responsible to obey. The first set of
commandments given to the children of Yisrael was based on obedience. Today,
the same set of commandments is based on love. If you love me, keep my
commandments. Yahushua warned us in the scripture that whosoever has an ear to
hear let him hear, and whosoever has an eye to see let him see. He also said in
the parable of the talent.
Matthew 25:29 For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will
have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken
away.
In today’s church we
face a most serious problem, one of serving YAHVEH by offering strange fire,
and think we are worshiping Him. These two practices seem to be one of the
same, yet they are worlds apart. YAHVEH initiates true service, when man serves
under YAH’S authority, he is thereby accepted. Strange fire originates from
man. It does not require knowing the will of YAHVEH or obeying the authority of
YAHVEH. It is wholly done through man's own zeal, and it ends up in death. It
is time for us to ask for YAH’S enlightenment as to whether we are serving in
the true spiritual principle of worship or according to the principle of
strange fire.
The best bible
school or seminary in the world is when the local churches start functioning
according to YAH’S pattern. The local church is the visible manifestation of
Adonai’s promises, because the church is the covenant people. It is this local
church that the ladder of Yahushua’s presence touches heaven and releases the
blessings of the Father to those in need of development and training.
We need The Mighty Hand of
YAHVEH ministry in order for us to go forward to explore the infinite realms of
the Spirit of YAHVEH. We must have all five ministries in order to pass out of
the realm of the natural, and into the realm of the spiritual. We must have the
Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher in order to progress from the
length and breadth and begin to comprehend the reality of the height and depth
of the spiritual things. The horizontal relationship in the church must give
way to the vertical relationship. The to and fro experience of our spiritual
walk must give way to the ascending and descending experience of Jacob’s
ladder.
The Body of The Messiyah must
pass from knowledge of the understandable to knowledge of the inconceivable; we
must rise from the visible to behold the invisible. We need to learn to hear
the inaudible and grasp the intangible in order to explore the unsearchable and
to declare the unspeakable riches of the Messiyah.
Adonai set the seed of eternity
within our heart, and His Mighty Hand ministry should not rest until the seed
of eternity is germinate and is established in all of us. The ministries must
yet bring to maturity a body that shall rule all nations with a rod of iron.
For it is given unto us the over comer to rule with a rod of iron, as the
vessels of a potter, shall they be broken to slivers.
As in the days
before Yahushua, there was disobedience in Yisrael, when Yisrael worship had
degenerated into a meaningless system of form and religious ritual devoid of
the glory of YAHVEH. There were Scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees with great
activity in the temple, but there was no real worship of Adonai. So today we
have the same thing in the churches. Protestantism itself has degenerated into
a meaningless system of religion, having a form of YAHVEHlessness but denying
the power thereof.
There is much
religious activity; great temples or churches are being built, as the great
white temple of Herod
that could be seen from miles around Jerusalem
When the people of YAHVEH
ridicule the truth of the Five-Fold ministry, who is responsible for the
rebuilding of YAH’S holy temple, and the perfection of the saints. Such
ridicule is not against the ministry, but it is against YAHVEH. We know Adonai
people do not realize this, but it is exactly what they are doing. They are not
ridiculing men, but YAHVEH who has spoken and declared His purposes. They are
not scoffing as fools, but uninformed, they are scoffing at the Wisdom of
Adonai. Why should it be through The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH that a YAHVEH of
Wisdom should chose to established heaven on earth.
No wonder Solomon
tells us that it is through wisdom that a house is build, and with
understanding it is established. So shall it be with the House of YAHVEH. It shall
be built; The Spirit of Wisdom shall establish it. There will be no more spirit
left in the Queen of Sheba as she behold the glory of Solomon’s kingdom, She
said beholds, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told to her.
Behold one greater than Solomon dwells in the midst of YAH’S people, shall not
His Kingdom be established even unto the uttermost parts of the earth. This is
why we need the Five-Fold Ministry, The Mighty Hand of YAHVEH.
